Ochestra Auditions for '10-'11 Auditions for placement into nTyme Orchestras (North Torrance Youth Symphony Orchestra, North Torrance Youth Chamber Orchestra, and North Torrance Community Orchestra) are open to all elementary, middle and high school woodwind, brass, percussion, and string musicians who have at least 1 year of experience on their audition instrument. String players must be able to perform in Suzuki, Book 3 or equivalent, and woodwind and brass players must be able to play 2 octave scales and have played through the second year band book at their school, or equivalent.All auditions will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Arlington Elementary School, with make-up auditions taking place, (with different music), on August 28, 2010. Auditions are set from 9am-5pm in 10 min increments. All audition appointmemts will be set with Hiroko Eddow, via email, (president@ntyme.org), or phone (310) 720-7624.Musicians auditioning are asked to download and play the audition pieces and scales. Students can choose an audition piece per instrument (students can audition for multiple orchestras on different instruments), which includes scale information. There may also be a sight reading component to the audition. Please complete an Audition Form and bring it with you to the audition along with the non-refundable audition fee* of $25.00 (made payable to nTyme).*The audition fee covers the cost of the audition music, judges' fees, and rental of the audition venue.
