Registration Information for '10-'11

If you are currently playing a musical instrument OR want to learn how to play one… Please consider joining the NORTH TORRANCE YOUTH MUSICIANS ENSEMBLE (nTyme)

nTyme was founded by parents interested in preserving, supporting, and building the music programs in the North Torrance area and its surrounding communities. It provides organizational, logistical, and financial support to the North Torrance area music programs.

REGISTRATION DATES & TIMES: June 26, 2010, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm; September 18, 2010, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm; and September 25, 2010, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm; at Arlington Elementary, 17800 Van Ness Ave., Torrance 90504

All students must register, regardless of group. Registration requires a one-time Materials Fee of $15. All registered students/musicians will receive an nTyme t-shirt.

ENSEMBLES/CLASSES

BEGINNING STRINGS Beginner on all string instruments (excludes guitar)

LI’L SYMPHONY (INTERMEDIATE STRINGS) Student must have at least one year of experience on a string instrument (excludes guitar)

ADVANCED WIND ENSEMBLE (BAND) Student must have at least two years of experience on a wind or percussion instrument

MOMMY/DADDY & ME VIOLIN Beginning violin, ages 4-8, with parent

ENDPIN ENSEMBLE Cello and bass ensemble - By invitation only

REED RUSH CLARINET CHOIR Clarinet ensemble - By invitation only

JAZZ BAND Jazz, swing music - By invitation only

STRINGS ‘N’ THINGS Students who play 1 string & 1 wind instrument - By invitation only
